Boiler Room at Burgess Park – September 2023

Background

Boiler Room: London returned for its second festival of the year in Burgess Park, following the success of Boiler Room’s show in May, also produced by The Fair.

The festival brought together up to 20,000 music lovers for a two-day event, with an increased capacity, additional day of music and brand-new stage.

Boiler Room partnered with Soulection, Places + Faces and Teletech to curate a line-up of the most exciting artists of the moment, including Mall Grab, Charlie Sparks, Joe Kay, Lunice and Bradley Zero – catering to tastes across the electronic music scene.

Challenge

  • Boiler Room is notorious for its DJ setup with the intimate and up-close experience between the crowd and performer. Ensuring effective crowd management was immensely important, both in advance of the event and onsite.

  • The client was keen for us to enhance the audio, ensuring quality was at the highest standard across both stages. We therefore made significant improvements by adding delays to Stage 2, strategically positioned around the area.

  • Burgess Park is a small site relative to the scale of the festival. This constraint required us to be resourceful and strategic in our planning and execution to make the most of the available area.

Press: ‘The Fair and We Are OPS in the Boiler Room’ – Festival Insights Magazine

The Fair and We Are OPS enabled 20,000 festival goers to dance at Boiler Room’s Burgess Park show over the weekend, increasing capacity and scale following the success of the one-day event in May.

The London-based event production and operations agencies worked meticulously to enable this unique experience for ticketholders, who flocked for Boiler Room’s much-anticipated return to Burgess Park for the second time this year.

Boiler Room, the globally-recognised music broadcaster, is celebrated for enabling guests to completely immerse themselves in the club experience, and dance in the immediate vicinity of the artist. Following the success of The Fair and We Are OPS’s services at Boiler Room’s Bank Holiday show in May, promoter Columbo Star asked the two agencies to bring last weekend’s event to life. This included an additional day of music, a new stage, and an increase in capacity from 8,000 to 10,000 each day – all while maintaining the same level of intimacy for festival-goers on stage.
