Nicky D is now a certified Mental Health First Aider!

This men’s mental health week, we want to say a huge congratulations to our Production Coordinator Nicky D, who is now a certified Mental Health First Aider!

While we love our industry, it is not always an easy place to be. Understanding the challenges that can be faced, Nick wanted to educate himself about mental health to support others who may be struggling.

The course, provided by Tonic Rider, taught him how to support people who may be experiencing poor mental health, and how to help combat the all-too-common stigma associated with it.

Nicky D said: “Courses like this are vital: they’re educational, concise (enough to work around a full-time job), and help us understand the fundamental ways to create positive working environments and support people on-site.”

Our team are all first aid trained, which supports them in aiding people with physical injuries, but we know the need for support does not end there. We’re excited for our team to be working towards supporting each other with mental health, as well as supporting our wider network of suppliers and contractors on-site.

Nick said: “Though the events industry can be intense, there’s so much to celebrate, and so much positivity to take from it. The people you meet, learn from, or laugh and cry with whilst building memories, leave your life richer. It’s important not to forget the positive impact this industry has on both those within it and wider society.”
