The Last Stand Final
Background
With just seven days to turn around a major live event in one of London’s most distinctive locations, The Fair was brought on board by The Last Stand to deliver the London final of its street football competition on 28 June.
The event had originally been planned for Leicester Square, but when the location became unavailable at the last minute, plans had to change fast. The final moved to the iconic Trellick Tower in West London, giving The Fair an incredibly tight window to rework the production, site and logistics plans and get everything ready for event day.
The Last Stand is a street football platform founded by Gundeep Anand, bringing together players and communities through fast-paced, small-sided football. The Trellick Tower final brought teams from across London together, with both men’s and women’s competitions and a serious prize at stake: the winning teams would progress to New York to represent London.
This was also a return to where The Last Stand began. Founder Gundeep Anand has described Trellick Tower as the place where the tournament started a decade earlier, making the location particularly fitting for the London final. The court was improved for the tournament, creating a legacy for local residents beyond the event itself.
For The Fair, the brief was clear: take a newly confirmed location and make the event happen, safely, professionally and at speed.
Drawing on our experience in event production and festival production, The Fair led the production with support from We Are OPS, bringing together the infrastructure, suppliers and operational planning required to transform the site in just seven days.
The project created a physical community legacy too. The Trellick Tower court was resurfaced and improved around the tournament, leaving behind a better playing space for the local community.
