Maiden Voyage 2025

Background

Maiden Voyage Festival returned to Burgess Park in 2025, reaffirming its reputation as one of London’s most distinctive cultural gatherings.

We have been collaborating with promoters at The Columbo Group to help them deliver this event since the start – overseeing event production, site design, operational delivery and health & safety to help the festival grow, while maintaining its underground ethos.

This year’s edition showcased four of the city’s most influential collectives bringing their signature energy to a unique open-air event. Adonis, Pxssy Palace, Unfold, and Tech Couture. Each brought their own curatorial voice and community, creating a bold and inclusive programme that celebrated the city’s underground culture in its rawest form. Artists included Call Super, Or:la, Shanti Celeste, Amaliah and more.

With up to 14,999 attendees gathering for a single day of music and community, the role was to balance creative festival production with operational precision, ensuring the independent spirit of Maiden Voyage was preserved even as the event scaled up.

Challenge

  • One-day intensity: The format of a single-day festival concentrates audience arrival and departure into a tight ten-hour window. This placed significant pressure on ingress and egress, as well as managing movement during headline moments.
  • Community integration: As Burgess Park is a valued local space, ensuring community access, mitigating disruption, and embedding positive local partnerships was a fundamental challenge throughout the project. As well as four festivals for the public (two Boiler Room shows, Jazz Café Festival and Maiden Voyage), we organised and delivered a community day for local residents and businesses to enjoy a range of activities for all ages. We also enabled Carnival del Pueblo – a festival empowering the Latin American community – to go ahead with our site infrastructure. Discounted local tickets were made available, and the festival partnered with Spring Community Hub to raise funds and give back directly to South London residents.
