Background

The Fair is renowned for producing some of the UK’s most exciting music festivals. In recent years, however, we have made it our mission to empower a vast range of events…

This includes the likes of RecFest – the world’s largest Talent Acquisition festival – which we returned to Knebworth Park to produce for their 10th anniversary event this year. Our continued success providing site management, sponsor management and creative production services, has seen our relationship with the client grow, and we now bring the event to life over the pond in Nashville, USA.

Enabling over 100 sponsors to offer a range of services on site is no easy feat, and no time on-site is without its challenges. The team, however, overcame these in a variety of ways, as mentioned below…

Challenge

  • Weather: sudden bad weather made it increasingly difficult for vehicles to drive on site. We had to ensure vehicles did not get stuck, while remaining extremely  conscious of ground damage. Ordered more trackway, altering traffic management and safety.
  • Lightning: lightning was detected in the vicinity of the site, leading to a red alert during the build. Our teams activated our Severe Weather Management Plan, stopping all work on site, and ensuring everybody on the sit followed procedures, such as staying at least 3m away from metal and trees, to protect their own safety. We continued to monitor the weather and resumed work on site once we were sure to was safe to do so.
  • Sponsors: RecFest hosted over 100 sponsors this year, all of which have their own stalls and therefore unique requirements. Our team supported RecFest in managing accreditation and health & safety auditing of all sponsors to make this a seamless experience for all.
